Active Meditation to Stillness

Osho's contribution to the world of meditation is enormous. He devised techniques to bridge everyday individuals to the experience of the beyond: the no-mind. To do this he created a number of active meditations: Osho Kundalini Meditation, Osho Dynamic Meditation, Osho Nadhabrahma Meditation, Osho Gourishankar Meditation, Osho Whirling Meditation, Osho No-Dimensions Meditation, Osho Chakra Sounds Meditation and many many more!! These techniques are diamonds still undiscovered by much of society and yet, the silent revolution continues.

Each individual has different needs and is a unique individuality, hence the tremendous emphasis on so many different methods. However, ultamately, the technique must dissappear and only meditation should be left over.

This word "meditation" is not something which can be explained, rather only indicated, and these meditation techniques are modern gateways. There is no method for stillness or the experience of the beyond, hence every Osho Active Meditation leaves a 15-20 minute period of absolute silence at the end which is not given any instructions. It is simply cleaning the house and inviting the guest, when the guest comes is uncontrollable.

We will be experimenting with many of Osho's meditation techniques in Mississauga and alternating between very active techniques like Osho Kundalini Meditation to more subtle active techniques like Osho Nadhabrahma Meditation. Every other meeting, we will be rotating from these two categories to give a wider glimpse of Osho.

Fabulous.

The meditation in Guelph....absolutely a delight. An ambience that filled the room with silence, celebration, and the culmination of both: meditation. Osho Nadhabrahma Meditation vibrated the air, enhanced awareness and fueled further celebration.

Space is an important function of creating a meditative atmosphere, not only to meditate in, but just to live life in. Here is what Osho has to say about space (http://www.osho.com/ ),

"Existence is so spacious that it allows you absolute freedom to be whatsoever you want to be, whatsoever you have the capacity to be. "It allows you an unhindered space to grow and to blossom. It does not impose anything on you." -Osho

"Understanding light: light creates space, so in design look to create a canvas for its dance of energy - for both the natural and the man-made light." - Osho

Osho Celebration Jan 19 in Guelph!

Celebrate, meditate and elevate this Saturday, Jan 19th, in Guelph for an Osho Celebration. It will be a beautiful event and is a continuation of Sadhana Meditation Acitivity (which also happens in Mississauga) and we invite those interested to get in contact with Amrito ASAP (bhattara@uoguelph.ca).

The Sadhana Deep Meditation Home (not quite a center--but a home where meditation happens!), in Guelph, is simply a project to have a meditation spot, somewhere in Ontario. It is there to host meditation events from time to time and is open to meditators who book an appointment before hand, to get involved in further meditations. It is merely an excuse for myself (Amrito) to do more meditation in this space and share it with others.

Osho Event in Toronto

On December 11th, Osho's Birthday was celebrated in Toronto (Lakeshore). A few Osho lovers met and enjoyed a deep and exhilarating Natraj Meditation preceding an Osho Lecture. The evening continued with a celebration and the energy of the home was very rich.

Ma Udgaya, who has been a sannyasin for many years, is full
of meditation and has created a space where seekers can truly go very deep. She has collected many rare OSHO books over the years (some for sale), and just observing the covers you can feel the OSHO vibe.

More meditations will be held at this location from time to time. During the summer, it may be possible to have meditation on the lake.

Just like this, Osho, shall become an Ocean in Ontario.

Osho Mississauga Meditation: Winter

Osho Meditations are happening regularly at the Unity Church of Mississauga (even though its a little closer to Oakville!). The group dynamic is very much an energy phenomenon when meditations like Osho Kundalini, Nadhbramha, and Natraj are done. The more people comming to do meditation, the greater the force of transformation as a group. However, even if one member of the group is transformed, than the whole group is benefited by it. So no matter how small or little the group may be at times, it all truly depends on how much benefit every individual wants from the 3 hours we spend twice a month.

We meet every second and last saturday of the month, from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. We listen to an Osho Lecture and than dive deep into meditation followed by a light dinner and celebration. Expansion must happen this Winter Season and Osho's energy will flourish!! Next Meditation is Saturday Nov 24th.

Sannyas

Sannyas is something which is beyond logic. It is a step into the world and sky of Osho, where logical means end into complete oblivion. It is a concious commitment to the path, the pathless path, the Tao, god, existence, love, bliss, no-mind...bla bla bla....

While becomming aware of what Sannyas used to be, before Osho, and what it turned into, with Osho, and what it is now, after Osho: I see a change happening exponentially. While traditional Sannyas implied a restricted lifestyle and a code of ethics, Osho brought "Neo Sannyas", a completely opposite way of taking life. Spirituality was to be expanded through all channels of experience, including sex, love, finance, beauty and many more luxuries.

Yet with such dynamism and modern insight, Osho still insisted on the orange robe and mala for 3 quarters of his movement! Clash? Indeed. Yet, perfect.
Osho challenged us to our own self-imagery and began deconstructing with Sannyas. How can one even concieve of learning if they are not ready to be wrong and exposed? Many things Osho says can fit within our understanding, but what about that which you disagree with? Is he telling you to agree in the first place, or wanting you to drop both (agreeing and disagreeing)? How can we even move an inch with out letting go of the walls (slowly crumbling anways)?

Yet soon when Osho saw that even his outter symbols, meant to destroy conditionings, became a conditioning itself, he let-go. Now the same effect was happening in reverse with people who became comfortable with all their toys, nevertheless remaining as dumb as they were. So where to go from here, without any distinction from the outside of who a sannyasin is or not?

Osho finally left Sannyas as a responsibility of oneself, to create oneself. And this, and thus, is the new age of sannyas: a complete freedom to choose. It is still no less a surrender as it used to be, but perhaps even greater. Now without the influence of the masses Osho travelled with, the urge to find oneself and become a sannyasin is not influentially brought about. Intrinsically people will have to decide to take the jump, and this jumping board will probably be more flexible than ever.

Sannyas, if taken as an individual seeker, can help protect us from the deepest ditch of spiritual growth: the spiritual ego. When we think we know: we never do, yet try to convince others moreso. Shut up and listen--and listen well, because only this music can transend time. Who cares about convincing and influencing others when we gain nothing but a big fat ego (a doube big mac!) and become spiritually obese? Never...

So if you didn't enjoy this piece, mehh, life goes on till the break of don.
Sannyas celebration this Saturday June 23rd. at Mississauga. Come, enjoy, sit and meditate, celebrate and leave.

Colours of Meditation

As thoughts disappear, as the mind evaporates, as time stops, and only a presence is felt----surrender happens. This is my experience. However surrendering is in no way a religious act to some higher authority, on the contrary it is an act for a deep reverence of life and one's self.

Osho has been loved, and loved tremendously, and the loving continues, not out of fear but out of gratitude. This respect is perhaps on a much higher plane than the regular relationships of love, family, friendship etc. Rather it is a transendence of them all. How so? Well aren't all relationships just merely mirrors to our selves: our minds, our dreams, our goals, our lies: our reality? For example, when a relationship is struggling and on the verge of collapse, emotions we thought we never had were released. These could have been anger, depression, oppression or others. After, we learn from these experiences, or atleast try to because they reflected something in us. Hence, they reflected our realities at the time. However, mystics reflect our potential along with our realities. Mystics stand like a fire burning the useless, leaving nothing but the essence.

When the ecstacy of meditation dawns upon an indvidual, he has no where to turn but to whom inspired him to do so. Like a catalyst, between pure conciousness and our minds, mystics are excuses for us to go inwards.

Osho brings a revolution, an upheaval of traditional beliefs and the rebellion of modern man.

Strange are his ways, new is his style, real as he is : misunderstood by the masses. Zorba the Buddha? Sex and meditation? Money and spirituality? And on top of all that, Sannyas? Wow !

This locket with his picture on it? What is this from a man speaking decades against the stupidity of organized religions, their dogmatic belief systems and outter symbols?

Haha, this is a joke and a benediction both together. On the one hand we can play the game without entering the game, and hence never playing at all. On the other hand, we can play the game and play to its totality, ending the game forever.

Sannyas is the game of truth, the truth to find out who you are. It sounds practical in words, but in play it is a fearful journey. So you think flying to the moon is dangerous? Climbing Everest is the ultimate risk? Hmm... Try and put a mirror to your mind and see how you react, but see if you can do it first. What if the journey is completely unknown to you, what if this path is pathless? What if logic and science are no longer relavant during the inward revolution? What if death is merely a facade, a lie, to the truth of death every moment?

Trembling? Yes, the journey is unknown, but the mystics have travelled it. No they cannot physically pull you out, but they can whisper in your ears and lure you out. Yes they know the path, but every path is different according to every individual. The mystic is on the peak and can see all paths, even though they travelled one way.

But with Osho is a totally new spirituality, an ocean of conciousness and methods of "each according to their type". With Osho all the mystics of the past our born again, from Kabir, to Monsieur and Rumee, to Nanak, to Francis and Jesus, to Tilopa, and even those alive in his lifetime, like J. Krishnamurti and Ramkrishna. The list is endless, and bound to be so.

With Osho, exist all the colours of meditation......

The Launch of Osho Ontario!

MEDITATION ACTIVITY, Guelph Ontario (Below)

The Osho revolution continues with an ongoing effort to keep meditation flowing. Meditation activity will now be starting in Guelph and Mississauga.

Meditation is an utmost necessity in this day and age and Osho's contribution to the science of meditation is emense. Perhaps the most revolutionary mystic to ever step foot on this planet, Osho has left a legacy beyond comprehension. The Osho Active Meditations (http://www.osho.com/), will be introduced daily in the meditation center, starting with Osho Dynamic Meditation. This groundbreaking technique incorporates modern psychotherapy with ancient meditative sciences. Psychotherapy Osho said only "prunes the leaves", and hence offers relief from a burdened mind only temporarily. On the other hand, meditation strikes at the root of the problem and results in a complete transformation of the individual, however this is difficult for modern man due to the rapid evolution of the mind. Thus before entering into a meditative state, Osho Dynamic Meditation dissolves layer by layer much of our pyschological conditioning, leaving us to our inner nature. For more information on this technique go to : (http://www.osho.com/LinkTo.cfm?LinkId=105)

This technique being one of Osho's core mind-breaking hammers, will be offered daily at the Osho Sadhana Meditation Abode starting at 6.30 AM daily.

Another frequent (almost daily) meditation will include Osho Kundalini Meditation :(http://www.osho.com/LinkTo.cfm?LinkId=106) at 7 PM.

Other Osho Meditations that will occur periodically include Osho Nadabrahma Meditation, Osho No-Mind Meditation, Osho Natraj Meditation, Osho Sufi Whirling Meditation, Osho No-Dimensions meditation and many more! (112 in the Book of Secrets)
